One of the newest restaurants in Franschhoek, Takis provides mediterranean food at very reasonable prices and South African sized portions. Being Greek, Takis proudly serves a selection of traditional dishes from his homeland, including slow-roasted lamb shanks, moussaka and a Greek platter (a selection of dolamdes, feta, olives, spanakopitta, keftides and fried haloumi. Dishes from farther afield are also on offer, such as tandoori lamb cutlets, in addition to a few traditional South African meals.
Takis is one of the most popular choices for pizza, both take-away and eat-in.
Considered to be a family restaurant, this is not as 'fancy' as many of the venues in the village. However, if you've had enough of eating in restaurants every night, with their rich food and heavy sauces, and are seeking 'real' food - you won't be disappointed.
Taki's is also home to one of the better bars in the village; here you will find a mixture of locals and visitors sipping a few ales.
